Emanuela Buta

Emanuela Buta is in the final year of the Masters of Arts course at the Royal Academy of Music on full bursary studying with Maurice Hasson. In 2001 she has come from Romania to study on full bursary at Wells Cathedral School followed by her undergraduate course at the RNCM for which she achieved a first class BMus(Hons) in 2007. Emanuela won the Romanian Solo competition in 1999 and 2000 and has performed solo concertos with Arad Philharmonic Orchestra in Romania between 1993-2009. She toured Europe both as a soloist and chamber musician and won 1st prize in the National Youth String Quartet Competition in 2005 took part in international chamber music festivals as part of Azzura and Myrios Quartets.  Emanuela was supported by Prince Paul of Romania throughout her studies, Musicians Benevolent Fund and John Lewis Partnership. She will be giving solo recitals in Romania and Japan in the next months and at present she teaches at Pro Corda, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and  assisting teaching at the Yehudi Menuhin School.
