Lauren Steel

Lauren Steel grew up in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland. She began playing the cello
at the age of eight, with Elizabeth Emerson, and later with Ken McLeod at Aberdeen City Music School. She was
awarded a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music at the age of sixteen and is currently in her third year,
studying with Professor David Strange.
Lauren has performed in masterclasses with Steven Doane, Colin Carr, Robert Cohen, and Robert Irvine. She has
performed overseas in Belgium, France, Denmark, Norway, and the Czech Republic.
