Petra Saxby

Petra began playing the Cello aged 7 whilst living in Humberside. Later, after moving south, she was awarded a grant by Surrey Arts to attend
the Junior Royal Academy of Music, where she studied with Heather Harrison. She later went on to study with
Robert Irvine at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and after, with Catriona
Hetherington.
On moving back down to London she also trained as a sound engineer and now teaches the Cello
in schools and enjoys a wide variety of experience playing with classical and contemporary musicians and
working within the recording arts.
