FeMusa

"I have heard the FeMusa String Ensemble in concert and was impressed with their standard of performance. Under the excellent leadership of their founder, Nazrin Rashidova, this group of young ladies should look forward to a very successful future."

Founded in 2008, FeMusa is a professional chamber orchestra of talented female international musicians, the first of its kind in Britain since the 1950's. Featured on BBC World News, Euronews and London Live, FeMusa has performed in London, Oman, Paris and Azerbaijan and were privileged to have been invited in 2012 to play on Omani Women’s Day in the Royal Opera House in Muscat.
Their London concerts at St John's Smith Square, Westminster Cathedral Hall and St James’s Piccadilly have included the renowned British mezzo Louise Winter, and a revival of Azerbaijani composer Fikret Amirov's Nizami
Symphony, last performed in the UK in 1965, under the baton of Gennady Rozhdestvensky.
FeMusa showcases living composers and brings more world music to the classical stage. With origins in many countries, FeMusa's musicians are developing multicultural aspects alongside more traditional western repertoire,
performing rare or lesser-known works.
