About FeMusa...

"I have heard the FeMusa String Ensemble in concert and was impressed with their standard of performance. Under the excellent leadership of their founder, Nazrin Rashidova, this group of young ladies should look forward to a very successful future."

FeMusa is a chamber orchestra of talented female international musicians, the first of its kind in Britain since the 1950's. Their successful 2009 debut featured on BBC World News, and London concerts at St John's Smith Square have included the renowned British mezzo Louise Winter, and a revival of Azerbaijani composer Fikret Amirov's Nizami Symphony, last performed in the UK under Leopold Stokowski.
FeMusa showcases living composers and brings world music to the classical stage. With origins in many countries, FeMusa's musicians are developing multicultural aspects alongside more traditional western repertoire, performing rare or lesser-known pieces. Recently, FeMusa was invited to perform at the Royal Opera House in Muscat (Oman), The Philharmonic Hall, Baku (Azerbaijan) and in St. Roch in Paris (France).
